  1. Samsonite C-lite, Proxis and Liteshock all weigh less than 5lb in their carry-on sizes. The C-Lite being class leading in lightness across all it’s size variations. You should test them.

  2. Hi, Nik! I recently purchased the TravelPro Maxlite 5 softside expandable carry on 19" suitcase and LOVE it! Just the right size for me, rolls well, handle is great. I also purchased the Lightweight Underseat carry-On Travel Tote. It is lightweight at 1.6 lb and has a large capacity of 26 L or 0.9 cu’. But the tote is more rigid than I would have liked. It does not squish under the airplane seat very easily. I may have to replace it for something more pliable. I have been researching the best, lightest soft side luggage to replace our old suitcases and came across your video. Thank you SO much for your time and expense in creating and sharing this video! I am definitely going to buy the 21" for my husband and will probably purchase more in the checked sizes for our up-coming trips! Thanks again!

  3. Great review Nik!! On the verge of needing a new small light weight bag, so your timing couldn’t have been better!! Thanks for all your time and effort to review all of these and give us your take on what’s out there! Looks like the TravelPro Maxlite 5 is it for us!

  4. I have a checked large "It" featherweight and absolutley love it. It’s made many trips with no damage.

  5. Thank you Nik. I have been researching for months, soft trying luggage in the stores. The side handle is an important feature for a petit size woman like me. In many occasions I had to lift the bag and move faster to catch a train in Europe. The position of the handle is another important thing to notice. If the side handle is not lengthwise, the arm gets twisted and is uncomfortable. What are your experience on the Samsonite Uplift Spinner?

  6. great vid! Samsonite does have a few suitcases below 4 pounds (3.7 / 1.7kg is their lightest proper suitcase I think), at least in Belgium😄

  7. The July light expandable looks like a great bag. However, I recently came across a new brand I hadn’t heard of…Duravo. They make a 5.6 lb expandable international carry-on with a side handle. It would be cool to see you put that up against the July.

  8. Most countries use kilograms. So it is better if you can put kgs as well . A lot of arlines is 7kg or 8 kg limits

  9. Samsonite has another brand that do have an ultralight bag .. uhhh.. don’t remember the name of that brand ….wait…it’s called : American Tourister… this brand belongs to Samsonite!!

  10. I live in Europe and travel in all directions so I go crazy with limits of different regional airlines. For me the deciding point is if the wheels function well on cobblestones–think France, Italy, Portugal, Spain and all the Scandanavian countries–so for me the wheel information being on the start of your reviews would be great timesaver! Yes, many bags are sold in Europe only and/or dimensions differ just enough to cause outrage in Zurich—which I rank as the airport that makes me repack my bags most often. But then recently I had to repack at Eurostar London although I met the size requirements I was over maximum length! Brexit has turned UK into insanity! Please remember your little petite old ladies dragging these bags plus I have to carry my 4 kilo doggy in a bag and she takes up my personal item category. I would love to see a column on pet carrier bags/backpacks please!!!! Merci beaucoup!

  11. If uou can afford to buy these expensive hand carry bags then you can afford to pay the extra weight.why bother buying this expensive one

  12. I’m also used to picking up fashionable and discounted bags from kislux , and to be fair, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with individuals choosing to buy fakes for personal use, so it’s not necessarily a bad thing, it just gives us a choice

  13. Bought the IT Lukke Cabin bag through your site – easiest way to find it. It was great ! Easy to handle & holds a lot. Thank you for the help 🙋‍♀️

  14. The Verage has the double expansion zippers to PREVENT THEFT. You can move the second set of zippers totally opposite the outside zippers and can prevent theft or deter. (No thief wants to do the pen trick two times … they just want the easiest bag to steal from when bags are left unattended as they are transferred between flights. Think all the bags you see in air ports piled together unattended.

  15. Loved the it luggage Lykke, but I would like to know how you found this for $68. It is now showing a price of $99-$140. Thank you!

  16. Just a heads up if you’re going to do international can you also put weight in kilos please. Most airlines here have a 7 kilo limit so bags under 1 kilo (under 2.2 lbs)

  17. I would suggest to anyone with a bag that they no longer have use for, they might consider donating to a charity that helps homeless children or children in foster care. When these poor kiddos are moved from place to place, they put their personal belongings in a plastic garbage bag. Personally, I find that really pathetic. It sends the message that they’re not worry of anything nice.

  18. I personally not a fans of hardshell-like luggage… So, I bought mine (Rockland Fashion Softside Upright Luggage Set, Expandable, Black, 2-Piece (14/19) for less than $45 w/ tax!) last year from Amazon for my 2 wks trip to Portugal & Spain & I love it! I also took it with me & spent 5 days in TX! The size is perfect for the airline requirement in Europe & I had no issue of zipper or falling aside. It’s pretty sturdy & will take it w/ me again for my another trip to Switzerland & France next wk! 😆✌️

  19. Lmao what? 😂 your a clown! The Samsonite Cosmo lite 21 inch carry-on is 3.7 pounds, the lightest you can buy what are you talking about!🤡🤡

  20. My biggest issue with roller bags is the wheels. I travel in Europe pretty regularly and find the cobblestone streets and sidewalks are really hard on the wheels. I would love to see a review that included the durability of the wheels for both carry-on bags and checked bags.

  21. I would never buy any of these bags….they are all 4 wheeled spinners….I always use the 2 wheel case with inline skate wheels. These cases are useless on anything that isn’t a smooth hard tile/short carpet floor. If you are a person who has to use trains/buses &/or walk any distance outside of an airport you risk loosing wheels & the more robust & larger inline skate wheels reduce that risk.I have to walk passed a 5 * hotel to get to work every morning & I can’t tell you how many of these caster type wheels I’ve found over the past 5 years & it’s becoming more frequent with the popularity of these bags ….Tues/Wed/Thur/Fri are the prime days for finding them.I find 2 or 3 wheels a morning. The train station is only a 10 minute walk from the Hotel so I guess a lot of people don’t bother with Uber’s or a taxi & choose to walk.I would suspect a lot of them are business users judging by the days I find them.

  22. Great content! Extremely informative and practical, not to mention hilarious! Thanks for a very helpful, no-fluff video!

  23. I needed this video! Every carryon luggage on Amazon has too many 1-star reviews for my liking, even reputable brands. As someone who doesn’t travel much & is also clumsy, I don’t need a suitcase with bad zippers/ wheels.

  24. Great video! It would be great for you to list the liter capacity of each bag. That’s helpful for comparison sake.

  25. What good is this if you are not even talking about the wheels? The wheels make a huge difference. Some of the ones you recommended have horrible wheels that are not protected and can break off.
